Pro Club Reviews

Carlisle United
”The responseball is a great tool to enhance our goalkeepers speed of thought. Using the responseball also allows us to provide a contineous challange to our goalkeepers which is crucial to there long term development.”
Ben Benson – Carlisle United Academy Goalkeeping Coach
Liverpool FC
“The RESPONSEBALL is excellent for use in youth goalkeeper training sessions. We’ve tested it with the younger keepers as a way of helping them concentrate more on the ball and not to go to ground too early. It is an enjoyable inclusion in any youth training session. We did however make sure we used it as part of other training exercises and combined it with using a regular ball to give a good comparison.”
Mark Morris, Liverpool FC
Aberdeen FC
“I used the Responseball in a showcase training session at the Grassroots Football show this summer. It is an excellent training ball for working on reactions and shot stopping. Mainly because it is so relevant to what we need to do as goalkeepers. I will be using it in my own training and definitely think it is a must have product for any coach working with young goalkeepers. I certainly look forward to doing more work with the ball in the coming season.”
Jamie Langfield, Number 1, Aberdeen FC
Burnley FC
“Hi Glenn, I have already purchased one of the ball and I think its amazing for my keepers. I use it in my sessions with the keepers, because i think it helps them to work on there judgement and also helps them use footwork. I think the ball is excellent.”
James Wilkinson, Burnley FC
ADO Den Haag
“I used it, was during the first goalkeeping training in the WWW.PROCAMP.NL summer camp in Papendal, Holland. In a 3G pitch, with amateur keepers from 8 to 14 years of age. Here the results were very good, just by throwing the ball from 2-3 meters away from the keepers you really get them to focus and work on their reflexes and reaction. Also noticed that they loved to throw it to each other, so I used it in the initial warm up in pairs the day after, achieving a high level of concentration from the kids (trying to get the biggest effect from the ball) that lasted for the whole session.
I highly recommend the Responseball to all keepers under 14 years of age, to the youth clubs that cannot afford a goalkeeper coach, this is a perfect tool to achieve a good improvement of your keepers without specific training. Also it is perfect to all parents that want to help their goalkeeper son/daughter improve during those afternoons in the park or in their backyard.”
Inaki Samaniego, Goalkeeper coach at ADO Den Haag, Procamp, VCS and Frans Hoek Sports

Cardiff City
“The Responseball is an excellent training tool for young goalkeepers for training focus and reactions. If used alongside normal footballs it will improve dealing with certain types of shots. I highly recommend them for any GK Coach.”
Ryan Mackerness, Cardiff City Academy Goalkeeper Coach.
Blackpool FC
“The responseball is excellent for providing an unpredictable bounce. I have used various apparatus in the past to try and simulate deflections such as scattering markers and setting up large cones, none of which were as effective as the responseball. The responseball can be used for all ages and abilities, I have used it with an international keeper all the way down to 6 year old keepers just starting out, by varying the delivery of service. It is the best product on the market at present at recreating unpredictable bounce.”
Andy Fairman, Goalkeeper Coach, Blackpool FC
Ipswich Town FC
“The new Responseball is great for use as a development tool for younger keepers for practicing at home in the garden and in one on one sessions.”
James Hollman, Goalkeeper Coach, Ipswich Town FC
Drogheda Utd
“The balls arrived and I have been using them with both the keepers and for the first time last week we did a session with the under 14′s team. We set up a zig zag dribbling drill and surprisingly it encouraged the lads to use both feet in order to control the ball. We also played a 9 a side game with the response ball and they loved it. One of the kids asked could he buy one from me and the general comments are great. I also used the balls to warm up our under 18 keeper pre-match and at first he was a bit put off as he found it hard to deal with but after about 15 minutes his focus and handling was excellent and he went on to have a man of the match performance.
I plan to use the balls in all the training sessions with our under 14 team as the concentration required using the ball in drills gets the lads focused and helps stop complacency in training. If I am honest these footballs should be incorporated into kids drills……it can only improve their game.”

It really has that stand out appeal and clearly intrigued anyone that has seen it. Someone said you may as well use a rugby ball, but the Response ball differs as sometimes the return is normal, sometimes erratic, just as in a game situation if a ball were to be deflected or hit some dodgy ground. I`ve used the balls for 2 goalkeeping sessions and one outfield session with 9 boys so far. Every child that has come into contact with it have really enjoyed using it, lots of smiles. The feedback is 100% excellent. In the outfield session i was working on push passing with 2 groups using 2 touch and it really forced them to 1. Focus hard and 2.Move their feet on erratic returns. In the goalkeeping sessions we found the ball often rolled normal and sometimes suddenly really kicked up at the last minute, forcing a Cup or K leg instead of the expected ground pick-up. The ball improves footwork, forcing children to adjust their feet to get their bodies into line and behind it. Not sure if you have tried, but we experimented by throwing it against a rebounder, which produced fantastic results. In my opinion the Responseball is a great piece of equipment for goalkeepers and outfield players alike and I fully recommend it. Well done on a clever product.

“Hi Glenn, Thanks for sending out the Responseballs. Used them last Monday for the 1st time. The overall feedback was theses are great so unpredictable. We did a pass back exercise with them and it was amazing at the start how many went over the foot or leg of the goalkeepers. Once they got use to them by keeping the eyes on the ball constant. Would recommend the balls to every goalkeeping coach.A great training aid that can only help goalkeepers from all ages.
Glenn can we form some sort of partnership i.e advertise each other on both our websites etc. cheers.”

“Glenn!!! I’ve used the response ball in several of my coaching sessions with different age levels. All have met with a positive response. Unpredictable & a ball that can catch you out if you are not focusing. The keepers I have worked with have been encouraged by the ball & all feel it’s helping their development/awareness.”

“We bought the “Ball with the Bumps” for our 8 year old son, who is a goalkeeper for our local club. He has been invited to join an elite Portsmouth in the Community goalkeeping course. The ball is great for practising his reactions. When training with his team, Georges’ dad will go in the football court for half an hour and train with the ball whilst the other team members are practising their ball passing skills. We are really pleased with our purchase and hope it will keep our son on his toes in GOAL.
All his friends think the ball is great, and he is never short of a thrower.”
